Tweeter to Typography

Tweeter to Two ray radio

Tweeter. A speaker designed to re­produce the high part of the sound spectrum.
Tweezers. (Print.) Small pick-up pin­cers used for removing type when making corrections.
Twill. (Textile) An appearance of di­ agonal, raised lines in a fabric.
Twin-feeder. Type of flat twin insu­lated cable in which two conductors are spaced to give particular RF im­pedance value for coupling antenae to tuners.
Twin igni.tion. (Auto.) An ignition sys­tem having two sets of breaker points arranged to fire either si.: multaneously or alternately.
Twin-six engine. (Auto.) Consists of two sets of six cylinders placed at an angle of 60 deg.
Twist bits. (Wood Patmkg.) Similar to the twist drilIs used for drilling metal, but ground at a sharper an­gle; used principally for boring holes for screws in wood.
Twist drill. (Mach.) A drilI made from round stock, having two helical grooves extending through its effective length. Twist drills are made for u.se on both metal and wood, with straight, square, or taper shank. Those for use on wood are called "twist bits."
Twisted cable. (Elec.) A cable con­sisting of two or-more conductors twisted together.
Two-filament bulbs. (Auto. Elec.)See Double filament lamp.
Two-line letter. (Print.) An initial­ letter as high as two lines of the text.
Two-on. (Print.) The use of two or more forms arranged for printing in duplicate.
Two-phase. (Elec.) Or quarter phase. Two windings or circuits with a phase displacement of 90° (electri­cal).
Two-phase alternator. (Auto. Mech.) Polyphase a.c. alternator wound to deliver two sets of current differ­ing in phase displacement by 90 deg.
Two-speed rear axle. (Auto. Mech.) In this type, two speeds are incor­porated in the axle, -giving twice the number of speeds obtainable with the single-speed axle. Especially adapted to trucks, making possible a saving in wear and tear on the engine and in gasoline con­sumption.
Two-tone steerhide. (Leather.) An inexpensive leather suitable for book covers, cases, etc. It is sup­plied in natural and mottled ef­fects.
Two-way radio. Radio communi­cation carried on between several localities with portable equipment which contains the means of re­ceiving and transmitting radio energy.

Tympan. (Print.) One or more thick-, nesses of paper on the impression surface of a printing press to im­prove the quality of the presswork.
Tympanum. (Arch.) The term tympa­num and pediment are often used interchangeably. The triangular space bounded by cornice, con­tains the pediment.
Type. (Print.) A metal character .918 in. in height: used in printing. Type caster. (Print.) A type-casting machme.
Type gauge. (Pfint~)A gmduate<ktrip of wood or metal used for measur­ing the number of lines in a piece of maller.

Type higb. (Print.) The height var­ies slightly in different countries. in the United Stats it is .918 in. high.
Type metal. (Print.) An alloy of one part tin. two of antimony. and five of lead.
Type planer. (Print.) A solid wooden block with a smooth surface. used to plane down the type form be­fore it is locked in the chase.
Typograpber. (Print.) A master priliter or typographic designer.
Typograpbio. (Print.) Pertaining to the art of printing.
Typograpby. (Pril}l:) (I) Typeselling or the arrangement of parts in a piece of type composition. (2) The art of printing.
