GNU
The GNU project (GNU is Not Unix - Recursive acronym) began in 1984 under the leadership of Richard Stallman, with the mission to develop a Unix system completely free. His first projects consisted of two bricks fundamental to the development of FOSS: The Emacs editor and the GCC.
Hundreds of Software have been developed so far by this organization comprised of many volunteers. Eventually, the GNU project aims to provide a complete system, including through the development (which was launched over ten years) of kernel Hurd, futuristic design. The GNU tools provided a good share of distributions Linux. Examples include CVS, bash, or wget.
The GNU project is probably the fundamental pillar of stroke free software. The Free Software Foundation is highly respected within the free software community for this reason. All GNU tools are of course under license LPG.
Google
Google is a company founded in 1998 by Lawrence E. Page and Sergey Brin in Silicon Valley in California, sponsors of the search engine of the same name.
Google publishes today around its search engine a multitude of services. Some examples:

Google AdSense
Google AdSense is a program of online advertising company Google dedicated to publishers.
By joining this program, the editor of a website Internet can place on its website the AdSense ads to various formats (banner to the pavement via the button) and is paid per click. These ads that advertisers are buying on AdWords occur mainly in the form of text links, even if for some weather Google may also file formats.
Google AdWords
Google AdWords is an advertising program in line with the performance of the company dedicated to Google advertisers.
By joining this program, the advertiser buys sponsored links appearing on results pages of search engine editors and network members AdSense. The advertisers pay when users click on advertising by an auction system and quality: the higher the price per click, the higher the ad is relevant for the user, the more the ad is shown.
