Teraflops
Floating-point operations per second. Floating point operations per second. Measuring the speed of a Processor or units of arithmetic processor. A floating-point operation handles decimal-point, coded on a number of bits.
This unit is more representative of the computational power of its processor frequency (expressed as Hertz, Hz) or the number of instructions per second that can run (Mips, millions of instructions per second).
A prefix always indicates a quantity: megaflops (106 flops), gigaflops (109) Teraflops (1012) ... The power of current processors is usually measured in gigaflops.
The s final part of the acronym, it should be kept in the singular: 1 teraflops, 1.5 teraflops. However, there sometimes its elision: 1 teraflop, 1.5 teraflop, 2 teraflops.
