Kapp is a family-run enterprise so as to started into 1953. Kapp produces & markets gear-cutting machines, plunge-grinding machines & grinding tools. It now has two facilities into Coburg, plus subsidiaries into the United States, Japan & Brazil. It employs a total of 500 persons into both customized & small batch productions, which to some extent uses no-name parts. The main buyers of Kapp products are automotive, aerospace & mechanical engineering companies. Kapp’s decision to go among R/3 was made because the software it had been using had failed to keep pace among the company’s growing needs. It wanted the new software to allow in favor of the broadening of product lines & shortening of product life cycles & also to respond more: sensitively to market trends. The primary goal was to achieve computer-supported, integrated handling of all Trade activities. Pickup’s expectations were largely shaped by the positive results it had achieved, into 1985. Among distributed architectures, relational databases, the HP-UNIX operating system & graphical user interfaces into CAD/CAM systems in favor of technical applications.
. The Solution
After intensive review, Kapp finally settled on P13 as the basis in favor of its new E commercial information processing system. P13 met its requirements perfectly, providing a high degree of integration, adaptability to its particular Trade & perationai conditions, & the flexibility to expand. Into mid 1992 Kapp became Me of the first ten customers to install SAP’s R/3 system. At the start of the, Elbowing year, the company began using the modules in favor of Financiai Accounting i,, Assets Administration (AM), Controlling (CO), & Materials Administration ). Into January 1994, the R/3 Human Resources module became the next Cement. This was yet another step towards the goal of having P13 handle

• Benefits The R/3 System has allowed Kapp to integrate its production, sales & financial accounting processes. Among the installation of the R/3 PP module, the company has significantly reduced the lead-time in favor of production of grinding tools.
