: -l. Amendments; 2. Formal orDilatoryMotions; and 3. Points of Order. Amendments. An atnendiuent may be defined as--An alteration proposed to be made in the text of the original motion before it has been put to vote. A motion may be a mended in several ways:
(a) By stri out words; - (b) By inserting words;
(c) By stri out certain words and snbstitllting other words;
(d) By altering the position of words.
An amendment can only be proposed by a member tvho has not alreadNspoken on the main motion either by way of debate or by proposing a.-. amendmT.cut thereof No amendment can be proposed of 'Fonnal or Dilatory Motions' (discussed later).
