Planning of supply chains

Planning of supply chains, detailed scheduling, SAP APO supply network planning

Planning of supply chains and procurement
The Supply Network Planning in SAP APO incorporated as part of mySAP SCM the areas of procurement, production, distribution and transportation. It thus allows simulating and implementing comprehensive tactical planning decisions and decisions on sourcing the basis of a global market. Basis for the SNP planning is either created in SAP APO Demand Planning (DP) or in SAP R / 3 Enterprise has developed programming. The Planning horizon of the supply network planning is the medium to long term. That The result is a gross quantity-, production and mobile location distribution Plan. About the Supply Network Planning will ensure that the correct quantities of finished products at the right time available without being overloaded critical resources. The maximum accuracy of the scheduling is on the day level. In the context of the supply network planning numerous transactional data between SAP R / 3 Enterprise and SAP APO replaced. The planned independent requirements are as stated above, either from the R / 3 programming or from the SAP APO Demand Planning. Customer orders come from the SAP R / 3, they will be there in the Application Component SD managed. SNP on the system Requisitions (Requisition) created stock transport requisitions and SNP planned orders, and passes it to SAP R / 3 Enterprise. Orders can then plan in SAP R / 3 in Production Orders be implemented, or the detailed planning for the SNP planned order is carried out in SAP APO and is then handed over to the production order in SAP R / 3. The detailed planning of the SNP planned orders can thus both the SAP R / 3 as well as in SAP APO place. About the APO Core Interface (CIF), the transfer is ensure the necessary data in real time.

In SAP APO Supply Network Planning, three different methods are available:
• The heuristic is a planning method for rapid cross-plant distribution and supply planning, if boundary conditions should play no role. Boundary conditions could for example the capacity or material availability. In this infinite planning method (Heuristics) will be an unlimited resource and material availability expected.
• Capable-to-Match (CTM) is a planning method that allows rule based cross-plant conditions in determining () finite planning.
• The SNP optimizer is a planning method, the cost-based cross-plant boundary conditions taken into account) (finite planning. The optimizer to meet demand, is that of optimal solution (for minimization the transport, manufacturing, warehousing and handling costs), the boundary conditions into account. The optimizer is thus the most complex and also the slowest of the three planning processes. He deliversplanning the best results.

Detailed Scheduling
The production and creates detailed planning, especially in short-term time horizon Planned orders and purchase requisitions directly in the production plant. In SAP APO transaction data is generated on the R/3-APO-interface to the SAP R / 3 transferred for execution. Planned orders and requisitions able both in SAP R / 3 Enterprise and in SAP APO are converted into production orders or purchase orders. About the CIF is an automatic data synchronization between the two systems. Stock transport  requisitions may differ from the SAP APO-Deployment/TLB (transport load builder) and then converted into stock transport orders to SAP R / 3 Enterprise will be returned. For operational execution (shares, feedback, equipment deployments or movements) in the SAP APO generated transaction data is SAP R / 3 Enterprise, the leading system. The execution of functions carried out in SAP R / 3, the modified Data after the execution of SAP R / 3 to SAP APO transferred.
