Job Description:
 
• Working with individual cost centre managers to create budget and forecast models;

• Ensuring all functional overhead costs are captured and correctly classified;

• Production and analysis of the monthly reports;

• Identify and challenge where cost savings can be made;

• Meetings with each Director on regular basis to discuss results, forecasts and special projects;

• Ownership of the overhead budget process.
• Maintenance of the general ledger for the UK Corporate overheads using Microsoft Dynamics;

• Monitor and manage the delivery of overhead analysis from India and the revenue earning sectors including North America;

• Review of the trial balance to ensure correct accounting treatment for overheads in accordance with company's accounting policies, International Accounting Standards (IAS) and UK Generally Accepted Accounting Practice (UK GAAP);

• Work with the business and the Accounts Payable to ensure that all costs are captured and are classified correctly;

• Provide the budget holder with details of expenditure committed but not incurred;

• Develop and produce the reporting of actual, budget and forecasts for the corporate overhead cost centres;

• Prepare the Finance elements of the Corporate Overheads BUR packs. This includes the analysis and explanation behind key variances;

• Prepare monthly CFO packs for each overheads area. This includes the analysis and explanation behind key variances;

• Produce monthly reports for cost centre managers to enable them to manage the available resources as effectively as possible;

• Provide information as required for internal and external audit, explaining and justifying the company's position and accounting treatment as required.

• Ensure the integrity of data of corporate overhead cost centres;

• Upload to Cognos Finance for overhead areas as required ensuring that budget and forecast returns are submitted in line with timetables.

 
Desired Candidate Profile
Knowledge, Skills and Experience

 

• A qualified accountant ideally with experience of working in a Finance function;

• Experience of budgeting, forecasting and reporting against actual costs in a similar size organisation;

• An appreciation of accounting practice surrounding the recognition of expenditure;

• Experience of Microsoft Dynamics or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) system e.g SAP, Oracle;

• Proven ability to take responsibility for task with a minimum amount of support.

• Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with internal suppliers and customers in order to raise financial awareness and facilitate the operation of cost control;

• Having worked in a corporate Finance or Consolidation team would be an advantage;

• The role will require the individual to act as a change agent and adapt to new challenges as and when they arise.
 
The job holder will be expected to contribute to the re-engineering of existing processes. This is likely to involve the development of Budget and Forecast models using Cognos Planning.

The person in this role will be one of the leads in designing, implementing, testing, and deploying of business intelligence solutions to meet sales and marketing business process requirements using Business Objects and Oracle.
The candidate is also expected to:

•Manage the Datawarehouse Life Cycle for large scale sales and marketing data warehouses and reporting data marts.

•Manage the day to day delivery process across 1-2 client engagements helping to deliver world-class business and technology solutions.

•Provide leadership in logical/physical data modeling and solution design.

•Use best practices to design the datawarehouse (star schema), test plans, ETL, reports.

•Guide project teams in implementing solution design.

•Set standards for application performance, operations, programming and security.

•7-10 years of hands on IT consulting work experience primarily focused on designing ETL and reporting modules, developing and deploying large scale data marts, data warehouses and reporting solutions

•A Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field from a top university is preferred.

•Significant design and implementation experience in Business Objects and Oracle. Experience with Informatica is a plus.

•Experience with the System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) process.

•Experience in architectural design, dimensional modeling (Star schema), ETL and data migration.

•Significant experience with performance tuning and optimization of applications.

•Experience with and knowledge of Master Data Management.

•Knowledge of current data modeling, and data warehouse concepts, issues, practices, methodologies, and trends.

•Significant experience with analyzing and troubleshooting the interaction between databases, operating systems, and applications.

•Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in oral and written form.

•Help with the selling process including writing proposals and giving product demos.

•Significant supervisory, coaching and hands-on project management skills.

•Ability to work within a virtual (off-shore) team environment and contribute to the overall timely delivery of multiple projects.
