  Position Purpose

Manage maintenance operations and associated activities to achieve top quartile performance in safety, productivity and cost. Provide leadership to maintenance staff.

Position Requirements
Primary Responsibilities

Planning

Plan maintenance activities across the fields and establish priorities in keeping with effective management of processing, plant, equipment, facilities and cost.

 
 
Work Site Activity

Manage Maintenance activities to ensure they meet all QHSE, Integrity, Corporate Assurance, Operational and Budgetary goals. Responsible for maintenance budget to the DGM – Viramgam Terminal. Ensure that Health and Safety culture, policies and procedures are promoted, communicated and implemented effectively in order to minimise risk, delegating roles and responsibilities as appropriate.

 

Personal/Team Performance Measurement and Improvement

Implement system for monitoring and measuring personal and team performance and set standards for the development of the Maintenance Team to meet all criteria set by Cairn India’s Performance Contract and Industry Guidelines.

 
Communication and Information

Provide the DGM - Viramgam Terminal with quality information concerning all aspects of field maintenance, work activities, facilities and equipment availability, HSE, security and manpower.

 

Emergency Response

Fulfil the Emergency response duties as defined in the ERP and company standards.

 

Scope

All plant and equipment maintenance – Oil, Gas and Utilities. Team Leader for all maintenance staff.
 
Indicative Tasks

Planning
• Focal point for maintenance input to asset planning.

• Develop roster plans to ensure adequate coverage of production duties, including coverage of emergency duties.

• Input maintenance requirements into weekly and longer tem forecast.

• Manage overall maintenance priorities by planning equipment and plant outages to minimise down time.

 
 
Work Site Activity
• Responsible delivery of performance standards, maintenance plans / programmes and the organising of multi-functional maintenance disciplines and contractors for providing resources and leadership

• Organise, maintain, support and optimize the preventive maintenance and planned corrective maintenance programme. Lead and supervise a team of maintenance engineers and contracts. Ensure maintenance and repair procedures and packages exist to control this work

• Supervise and coach direct reports.

• Implement current rules and regulations based upon statutory and company requirements. Ensure all statutory maintenance is carried out to national standards and industry best practice and to prescribed timescales

• Participate in Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for all high risk or unusual activities.

• Document reviews e.g. Operating Procedures, modification work packs etc.

• Maintain fiscal measurement calibration programme and maintenance.

• Provide technical expertise to the integrity management programme

• Verify technical content of maintenance reports.

• Ensure parts, tools and spares needed for planned and emergency maintenance are ordered, authorised and approved

• Ensuring that all records/logs/certificates are maintained and updated to provide evidence of conformance to Cairn India HSE standards.

• Organise support for commissioning of new and modified plant.

• Ensure compliance with Cairn India Control of Work and Safety Management standards.

• Ensure where performance standards have not been met that the correct plans are in place to resolve.

• Analyse and evaluate engineering and design changes, process enhancements and modifications to advise on the engineering impact of these changes, determine operability and ensure appropriate maintenance procedures can be applied

• Track progress of MoC’s raised by team

 
Performance Measurement and Review
• Encourages and support Continuous Improvement initiatives.

• Ensure induction of new personnel is completed and recorded.

• Reward staff for outstanding performance, champion individuals during performance review process.

• Carry out individual and team performance appraisals. Identify training requirements based on competency, skills needs, industry and Cairn India guidelines. Provide feedback to individuals regarding HSE performance.

• Maintain competency of Maintenance Teams by identifying training requirements for individuals and ensuring they are met.

• Audit Permit and isolation systems, control and monitor total number of live permits and long term Isolations.

• Conduct STOP training for Maintenance team members.

• Follow up / Close Out of safety actions - review and implement HSE actions.

• Conduct Area inspections and Safety Audit tours..

Communication and Information • Carry out general team briefs when necessary.

• Keep in contact with other sites and maintenance groups.

• Liaise closely with Installation Manager and Field Production Manager.

• Carry out presentations e.g. at Quarterly Performance Reviews (QPR’s), to senior manager when requested.

• Communicate performance targets to Installation Manager and senior Management Team.

• Interface with contractors and third parties.

• Advice to Installation Manager on all aspects of Plant and Equipment Maintenance.

 
Safety Critical Task s
• Fulfill designated role in emergency team as required.

Environment

• Ensure process and utilities plant is maintained in a manner that minimises spurious trips and shutdowns and therefore unplanned losses to flare/vent.

• Ensure plant and equipment is maintained in a manner to minimise potential for fugitive losses and accidental oil, gas and chemical spills from plant.

• Ensure waste disposed as per Waste Management Plan.

• Monitoring / measuring maintenance performance to meet Cairn India environmental monitoring requirements, recording of this performance monitoring; review of performance figures against regulatory and Cairn India objectives and targets.

• Understanding the environmental emissions and resource use and effects from each of the above.

Coaching and Developing

• Ability to interact with all staff.

• Provide proactive input to training programme to ensure all aspects of team development are met.

• Actively encourage development over and above core skills.

• Provide regular feedback to line management regarding trainee progress and requirements.
