Responsibilities:
Installation of Oracle applications 10g IAS, 11i (11.5.10) and Oracle databases 10
Plan and schedule to accomplish minor and major software upgrades.
Perform capacity planning, performance monitoring and tuning of systems.
Identify and implement/participate in the implementation of hardware, operating system and software enhancements for improving the reliability, performance and availability of the systems.
Proactively monitor and manage batch jobs.
Implement application architecture solutions, considering cost, reliability, performance and long-term strategy.
Manage systems for high availability, and satisfactory response time.
Plan and manage the installation of application patches, on development, test, quality assurance and production systems.
Proactively determine future growth of the application in the areas of database size, number of end-users and application functionality. Translate these growth parameters into future capacity requirements and architect appropriate hardware, operating system and software solutions
Configure monitoring tools to evaluate the performance of systems.
Be available on an on-call basis for recovery problems and system and application problems.
Participate in disaster recovery and business continuity planning; including assisting with fault tolerance and contributing to the design of disaster recovery plans.
Provide technical administration and migration support for various OAS environments.
Enforce application change control and migration strategy policies are
followed.
Management of application servers, proxy servers, middleware and web servers for OAS environments.
Required Skills:
Applications
Excellent Knowledge in installation, cloning, load balancing and maintenance of Oracle Applications
Excellent knowledge on configuration, setup and upgrade on Version 9i IAS, 10g IAS, 11i on Unix & NT operating systems.
Apply Product specific Patches and Mega post installation patches in ERP for Apps modules
Managing Instances and monitoring the database growth.
Very good knowledge of Oracle web server, Form server, Apache server, System Administration, Concurrent Manager, Oracle 10g AS and Oracle Internet Directory (OID).
Oracle 10g AS and Oracle Internet Directory (OID), report server management
Apply appropriate permanent fixes, patches and maintenance upon request, expected six implementations a year
Create / modify users in AD and reset AD passwords
Application log managemen
Maintain system documentation
The Middleware Hosting (Oracle Application Server) adds steady state services to the already contracted services. The services are:
Level 1 and level 2 support for middleware errors, including
Undertake end to end, cross platform, Middleware infrastructure problem identification and analysis
Where required, escalate problems to Middleware software vendor and pursue to resolution
Implement middleware error corrections and patches related to Incidents and Problems when available from vendor
Apply appropriate permanent fixes, patches and maintenance upon request, expected is six implementations a year
Apply application required configuration changes
Implement middleware infrastructure availability monitoring
Middleware log file rotation and pruning
Database
MUST have four years experience as an Oracle Database Administrator in a UNIX environment, with at least two years of working with Oracle 10g,
Performing database creation; patching; bringing databases, listeners, and agents up and down
Creation of database objects (tables, indexes, keys, triggers, views); granting object permissions
Database server installation and patching; Database backup and recovery; database export/import; data pump Listener management; monitoring server performance; and performance tuning.
MUST have managed an upgrade of an Oracle release.
MUST have experience scheduling periodic jobs in support of Oracle databases (backups, statistics collection, log file clean-up, etc.).
Must be knowledgeable about UNIX-based utilities |
