IEEE 802.1Q

Reading: [aitoripuruihachimarunitenichikiyu]
Alias:
802.1Q
Field:
LAN > VPN > IEEE 802.1Q

Virtual LAN it is standardized by IEEE (VLAN) standard.

Each company developing individual system, it mounted VLAN, but IEEE 802.1Q was enacted in order to guarantee interoperability as a standard.

It is stipulated the identification number which is specific to each VLAN group (VLAN-ID) the VLAN tagging which is exchanged (tagging) concerning method.

VLAN tagging, grant network in a way which calls VLAN-ID where that packet belongs to the packet which flows, the tag header. Network being formed over the plural switches, you know by the fact that this VLAN-ID is referred to, that packet is generic to which VLAN group.

IEEE 802.1Q Port VLAN

Alias:
port VLAN, port base VLAN and port-based VLAN
Field:
LAN > VPN > IEEE 802.1Q

Imagination LAN (virtual LAN) at one of systems, the entry of the switching hub (the port) the system which in the unit forms the group with the physical circuit.

When grouping with IEEE 802.1Q in the hub is set, communication with the equipment of the group which differs is cut off, like whether LAN consists of just the equipment which just belongs to that group of, it is visible.

IEEE 802.3 Ethernet

Alias:
802.3 Ethernet
Field:
LAN > Ethernet > IEEE 802.3

The Xerox corporation and the DEC corporation (presently one section of Hewlett Packard corporation) the LAN standard which is devised. IEEE 802.3 was standardized by IEEE 802.3 commission. CSMA/CD is adopted to access control. Presently, excluding special use, most LAN are IEEE 802.3.

Bus type and the concentrator which share 1 these circuits with the plural equipment (the hub) through, there are 2 types of star type which connects each equipment in the connected form of IEEE 802.3. In addition, with maximum transmission distance and transmission speed etc it divides into several types.

The thin coaxial cable (Thin coax) it utilized 10BASE-2 in the cable, transmission speed 10Mbps, maximum transmission distance 185m, maximum connection equipment several 30 bus types LAN. The thick coaxial cable (Thick coax) it utilized 10BASE-5, transmission speed 10Mbps, maximum transmission distance 500m, maximum connection equipment several hundred bus types LAN. As for 10BASE-T which is utilized most widely, from twisted pair line (UTP) the transmission speed 10Mbps which is utilized, star type LAN to of maximum transmission distance 100m. Multi-stage connection of the hub is to 3 stages.

IEEE 802.3ae

Reading: [aitoripuruihachimarunitensanei]
Alias:
802.3ae
Field:
LAN > Wireless LAN > IEEE 802.3ae

IEEE (the American Institute of Electrical and $electronic Engineer) with 802 commissions which decide the standard of LAN technology develop, high speed of transmission speed 10Gbps Ethernet standard. Also 10Gigabit Ethernet is called.

The CSMA/CD system which is adopted with former Ethernet is not adopted, in addition, those where you can use in the circuit have become only the optical fiber.

Be able to roughly classify to the W system which makes WAN use prime object and the R system which makes LAN use prime object, with W system the connected characteristic of SONET/SDH is considered. In addition, plural specifications exist with the type of optical fiber which is used for connection and the wave length of light, specification of 7 types such as 10GBASE-SR and 10GBASE-LX4 is defined

IEEE 802.3z

Reading: [aitoripuruihachimarunitensanzetsuto]
Alias:
802.3z
Field:
LAN > Ethernet > IEEE 802.3z

The Gigabit Ethernet standard which IEEE (the American Institute of Electrical and $electronic Engineer) with 802 commissions which decide the standard of LAN technology developed, use the optical fiber.

Gigabit Ethernet standard is decided, dividing into two standards, decides IEEE 802.3z concerning the standard which diverts the optical cable which is used with Fibre Channel among these. As for another Gigabit Ethernet standard with IEEE 802.3ab, as for this like former Ethernet it is the standard which uses the UTP cable.

When the standard which it is stipulated with IEEE 802.3z is divided finely, it becomes three of 1000BASE-SX, 1000BASE-LX and 1000BASE-CX. In the respective standard, type of optical cable and wave length of light are different, is a difference even in transmission distance and the like.
