One of the character code standard which is decided JIS (the Japan Industrial Standard) as part. It is the character code which adds 4344 letters which the JIS X 0208:1997 (generally known JIS97) it expands, include JIS third level letter JIS fourth level letter. It adjusts to JIS97, 11223 letters are stipulated.

The JIS Kanji character code was enacted in originally 1978, as JIS C 6226 after that amendment was done in 1983 1990 1997. JIS97 points to the standard after the amending 1997. Standard name is “encoding Chinese character gathering for 2 byte information interchange of 7 bits and 8 bits” (7-bit and 8-bit double byte coded KANJI sets for information interchange). JIS97 was amended in 2004 new Kanji character code standard “JIS2004” (the JIS X 0213:2004) to be enacted, in the future it is thought the thing where this keeps spreading.
