Ultra-Density Optical <UDO>

Field:
Storage > optical disk > Ultra-Density Optical

The bulk optical disk which SONY has researched, improves MO. What records maximum 40GB to the disk of 5.25 inches is made possible. Last standard is made to decide to around 2001 2nd quarter, commercialization to 2002 end of year is designated as goal. We adopt phase change recording type, postscript type and rewriting type are prepared.

Ultra DMA <Ultra ATA>

Alias:
UATA, ATA-33, Ultra ATA/33, UDMA and DMA-33
Field:
Personal computer > I/O > IDE/ATA > Ultra DMA

IDE which the Quantum corporation and the Intel corporation announced in 1996, connect the personal computer and the storage unit of the hard disk and the like (ATA) extended specification of standard. In the succession specification of EIDE which is standardized as ATA-2, it was standardized in 1998 as ATA/ATAPI-4 with ANSI. The highest data rate is 33MB/s. The Quantum corporation calls Ultra ATA, but there are also times which the Intel corporation calls “Ultra DMA”, is called ATA-33 or DMA-33 etc to in addition to.

Ultra DMA/100 <Ultra ATA/100>

Alias:
UATA/100, ATA-100, UDMA/100 and DMA-100
Field:
Personal computer > I/O > IDE/ATA > Ultra DMA/100

IDE which the Quantum corporation and the Intel corporation announced in 2000, connect the personal computer and the storage unit of the hard disk and the like (ATA) extended specification of standard. Also “Ultra DMA/100” is called. Transfer rate being maximum, 100MB/s and Ultra ATA (/33) has reached 3 times. The connector uses those of 80 pins which are used even with Ultra ATA/66. Downward compatibility is guaranteed, can connect also the hard disk of Ultra ATA specification and EIDE specification. The schedule where by the way the formal calling with “Ultra DMA Mode 5”, formally is standardized with ATA-6 which presently is in the midst of deliberating with ANSI as portion of ATA standard.

Ultra DMA/66 <Ultra ATA/66>

Alias:
UATA/66, ATA-66, Fast ATA-2, UDMA/66 and DMA-66
Field:
Personal computer > I/O > IDE/ATA > Ultra DMA/66

IDE which the Quantum corporation and the Intel corporation announced in 1998, connect the personal computer and the storage unit of the hard disk and the like (ATA) extended specification of standard. Also “Ultra DMA/66” “Fast ATA-2” and so on is called. Transfer rate being maximum, has reached the two times the 66.6MB/s and Ultra ATA. The connector has used the same 40 pin connectors until recently, but the signal conductor has become with 80 of times. Downward compatibility is guaranteed, can connect also the hard disk of Ultra ATA specification and EIDE specification. By the way the formal calling with “Ultra DMA Mode 4”, is standardized formally as a portion of the ATA-5 standard of ANSI.

Ultra SATA/1500

Reading: Ultra s a tea a plug [hi] [ya] [ku]
Field:
Personal computer > I/O > IDE/ATA > Ultra SATA/1500

IDE which connects the personal computer and the storage unit of the hard disk and the like (ATA) one of extended specifications of standard.

Decision of specification was done in 2000 November by economic organization “Serial ATA Working Group”, first standard of Serial ATA specification.

As for Serial ATA, those which modify the parallel transfer system which is adopted in the present ATA specification of Ultra ATA and the like, in serial transmission mode. Because of this, high speed it is possible with the simple cable to actualize transfer rate. Also compatibility of ATA standards of former parallel system has.

Furthermore, it is assumed that until recently also setting of the jumper pin and the like which is necessary for every drive becomes unnecessary, “if you connect the hard disk and the like, reaches the point where you can use immediately,”.
