SAP R / 3:
One of the best ERP market

Currently, and in order to address emerging needs within companies to achieve more efficient productivity, there are a lot of alternative software that applies to any chain that runs a product. One of the most used, and where other systems are based, is called SAP R / 3, which dates back to Germany.

The SAP R / 3 is a type system ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) has been designed based on a platform that provides programming versatility, ease of use, and accuracy for the overall management of the data collected.

Its name refers to two important factors that characterize the software. In principle, R refers to real-time processing and the number 3 to the three levels of process architecture with which it works: database, application server and client.

Through this exciting management system can make a thorough survey of all processes and operations performed within an organization, storing information that can be used by any sector of the organization.

The R / 3 system is designed in distinct modules, which meet the needs of each of the areas of a company.

In turn, each of the modules that make up this system have different sub-modules that interact with each other, thus providing a precise and distinct collection of information relating to products manufactured by the company, from receiving raw materials, to manufacturing and packaging of goods, to delivery of finished product at point of sale.

FI Module

In principle, there is the module called FI, referring to the finance sector of the company, and which in turn is composed of different sub-modules such as GL (general ledger), AP (Accounts Payable), AR (accounts receivable), CO (Cost Accounting), AM (asset management) and CA (contract management).

SD Module

Another of the modules of the system is the SD, which is responsible for sales and distribution area, and which has two submodules, POINT (logistics and implementation of transport) and LIS (Logistics Information System).

MM Module

Then we find the MM module, which provides an important platform for the management of materials, both for storage and for inventories. This module is composed of submodules WM (Warehouse Management) and IM (inventory management).

PP Module

The R / 3 system also has an important module dedicated to the production sector, which has been called PP, which responds to the name of the production planning. The need for accurate information on this point has made the PP module is composed of different sub-modules of equal importance: PM (floor control), PI (formula management), QM (quality assurance) and E & HS (environmental management.)

HR Module

Another module that integrates the R / 3 is called HR, created for the area of human resources, which is composed of submodules PA (Personnel Administration), PD (personal development) and PY ( payroll).

BC Module

Finally, the system has a module for the technology, known as BC, which is composed of submodules STMS (correction and transport system) and ABAP (native language of SAP R / 3 to allow the programming).
