Decision Support System
A Decision Support System is a way to model the data and make decisions based on the quality of it. Making the right decision in business is usually based on data quality and the ability to assess and analyze data to find trends where you can create solutions and policies for glossary Link DSS or decision support systems are usually applications computer with a human component that can sift through large amounts of data and choose from many choices.
The key to decision support systems is to collect, analyze and model data that is collected and then try to make sound decisions or construction of testing strategies. If computers, databases or the people involved are not usually does not matter, but is this process of taking raw data or unstructured, which contain and collect and then use it to help aid decision making.
The purpose is to conduct a feasibility study on designing a Decision Support System (DSS) that can be a support to production scheduling and operation of the Material Control of all those components to low demand from customers, ie all components that are assembled with lower rates of application unit.
While many people think of decision support systems as part of a specialized business, many companies have actually integrated this system in their day to day operational activities. For example, many companies constantly download and analyze sales data, spreadsheets and budget forecasts and update their strategy once to analyze and evaluate the results today. Decision support systems have a definite structure in companies, but in reality, data and decisions based on it are fluid and constantly evolving.
Decision support systems that only collect and organize data effectively are usually called passive models, do not suggest a specific decision and will only reveal the data. An active system of decision support processes and the data actually show explicit solutions based on those data. While there are many systems that are able to be active, many organizations would struggle to put all their faith in a computer model without any human intervention.
While the previous model DSS takes the ratio of the user in mind, another popular DSS model takes into account the mode of assistance as the basic background of the DSS model. This includes the:
- Model Driven DSS,
- Communications Driven DSS
- Date Driven DSS
- Document-Driven DSS
- Knowledge-Driven DSS
A cooperative decision support system is when the data are collected, analyzed and then provided with a human component, which can then help the system to revise or refine it. Mean that it is a human component and the work of the computer components together to find the best solution. |
