Data Mining Software

Data Mining is a process of identifying patterns of behavior or good, new, potentially highly useful, understandable and highly bound to data when it comes to making crucial decisions. Data mining combines statistical analysis, computer science, artificial intelligence, pattern recognition, machine learning (machine learning), database management and data visualization (to name just a few fields of interest).

Data mining is a process that aims to discover new variables or implied, and the correlation of cause and effect. It is an interactive process that consists in exploration of correlations, models and significant trends that occur between the data in large databases (usually created by integrating internal and external sources), using statistical techniques and mathematical algorithms.

The numerous techniques used in data mining can be traced to five areas of application:

Forecasting - the use of known values for the prediction of unknown quantity (eg estimate of the turnover of a store based on its characteristics)

Classification -identification of features that indicate to which group a case belongs (eg discrimination between normal and fraudulent behavior)

Segmentation - the identification of groups with homogeneous elements within the group and different from group to group (eg, identification of consumer groups with similar behavior)

Association - to identify elements that often appear together in a certain event (eg products that frequently come in the same shopping cart)

Sequences - to identify a history of associations (eg, paths visit a website)
